eBrigade Time clock and working time module
Clock the hours worked and track each staff member’s working time
A time clock and working-time tracking: your staff clock in and out, or enter their morning/afternoon hours day by day, on a weekly or monthly basis. eBrigade automatically calculates working hours, overtime (configurable premium-rate threshold), night hours (configurable time range), RTT (French reduced-working-time days off) and hours to be taken back as time off, with weekly/yearly totals and hours filled in automatically from activity sign-ups. This module is included in every eBrigade plan. Particularly useful for: firefighters & fire and rescue services (SDIS), patient transport, private security.
These buttons are about the full eBrigade subscription: this module is included at no extra cost in every plan.

What is the eBrigade Time clock and working time module?
A time clock and working-time tracking: your staff clock in and out, or enter their morning/afternoon hours day by day, on a weekly or monthly basis. eBrigade automatically calculates working hours, overtime (configurable premium-rate threshold), night hours (configurable time range), RTT (French reduced-working-time days off) and hours to be taken back as time off, with weekly/yearly totals and hours filled in automatically from activity sign-ups. Why track working time in eBrigade?
Counting the hours actually worked, separating out overtime and night hours, then copying everything into a spreadsheet is time-consuming and error-prone. Without a tool, overtime premiums, hours to be taken back and RTT are recalculated by hand period after period, and remain hard to justify.
What the time clock and working time change in eBrigade
Each staff member clocks in and out, or enters their morning and afternoon hours, and eBrigade does the rest: working hours, overtime beyond the premium-rate threshold, night hours within the defined range, RTT and hours to be taken back are calculated automatically and totalled by week and by year. The settings — premium-rate threshold, night range, time-off-in-lieu ratio, working days — adapt to your organisation.
What you can do with Time clock and working time
From the top bar, the staff member starts a clocked period with one click on “Arrival” — which they can name — and closes it when they leave. Time is recorded to the minute.
A weekly or monthly grid lets you enter morning and afternoon hours for each day, with a column for hours without clocking and the total calculated automatically.
Beyond the threshold you set, overtime is identified and paid at a premium rate (for example 25%), with a separate total displayed.
You define the night time range (start and end time): hours worked within this range are counted and tracked separately.
The module tracks RTT (French reduced-working-time days off) and converts overtime into hours to be taken back as time off according to a configurable ratio (for example, with a ratio of 1.5, 1 hour of overtime gives 1 hour 30 minutes to take back).
Totals by week and by year, weekly or monthly calculation basis, working days per week, hours filled in automatically on sign-up to an activity, and custom display options.
Step by step
Choose the calculation basis (week or month), the premium-rate overtime threshold, the night-hours range, the ratio of hours to be taken back and the number of working days per week.
Each staff member starts and stops the time clock from the top bar, or enters their morning and afternoon hours in the week’s grid.
Working hours, overtime, night hours, RTT and hours to be taken back are totalled in real time, with totals by week and by year.
Counters are shown as tiles — working, RTT, overtime, night — and feed each staff member’s individual record, ready to be justified.
Where this module really pays off
Private security & cleaning: staff who clock in and out on site, with night hours and premiums calculated without manual rework before payroll.
Fire and rescue services (SDIS) & public services: weekly tracking of professional staff’s working time, with the management approval workflow and hours to be taken back.
Patient transport & call-outs: days with irregular hours entered as morning and afternoon, with weekly and yearly totals kept up to date as you go.
Construction & maintenance: hours clocked per site, overtime beyond the threshold you set, and export to the payroll provider.
Training centres & administrative organisations: RTT, annualised hours and individual counters, with no parallel spreadsheet to reconcile every month.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Time clock and working time module included in eBrigade?
Yes, it is one of the included features: no option to subscribe to. You switch it on and your staff clock in from their computer or phone.
Do you need a physical clocking terminal?
No. Clocking in is done from eBrigade, on a computer or on mobile. Hours can still be entered manually for the morning and afternoon for people who do not clock in in real time.
Is overtime calculated automatically?
Yes, based on the premium-rate threshold you set. Night hours are calculated in the same way, within the time range you define, and hours to be taken back are totalled separately.
Can we work on a weekly or monthly basis?
Both. You choose the reference basis, and the weekly and yearly totals follow that choice. Annualised hours are supported for organisations that use them.
Do activity sign-ups fill in the hours?
Yes. A person signed up to an activity sees their hours pre-filled from it: they correct them if reality turned out differently, rather than entering everything.
Who approves the hours?
The approval workflow goes through management: days are submitted as requests, the manager approves or sends them back, and the timesheet can be signed electronically if you use the Electronic signature module.
Can the data be extracted for payroll?
Yes. Clocked hours, premiums and counters can be exported to Excel from the Exports & reports module, with your own columns if your provider’s format requires it.
