eBrigade Animals module
Manage your canine teams like the rest of your staff
Each operational animal becomes a fully fledged member in eBrigade, linked to its handler and with its own record. Photo, custom fields, one-click link to the handler: you deploy the pair with the same tools as your human staff, with no separate software.
These buttons are about the full eBrigade subscription: this module is included at no extra cost in every plan.
Register each operational animal as a member in its own right, linked to its handler, with a record whose fields adapt to the subject (human or animal).
What is the eBrigade Animals module?
Register each operational animal as a fully fledged member, linked to its handler, with a record whose fields adapt to the subject (human or animal). It is included at no extra cost in every eBrigade plan.
Why use Animals?
A dog handler or a rider joins the team, but their animal exists nowhere in the system: no record, no link to the handler, no trace in the database. You manage it on a separate spreadsheet, and when it comes to a changeover or an audit, nobody knows for certain which animal is deployed with which staff member. The staff record fields, for their part, are designed for humans: there is no proper way to record information specific to the animal.
What Animals changes in eBrigade
Each animal is registered as a fully fledged member, linked to its handler in the database. Its record only shows the fields relevant to an animal, including your custom fields. The link to the handler is made in one click from the record, and every addition or removal is logged. You instantly find the pair and deploy it with the same tools as your staff.
What you can do with Animals
The animal is registered in the same database as your staff: it has its own record and photo (with a default avatar if there is none) and benefits from the same management tools as human members, with no separate application.
From the handler’s record, select the animal to link: the handler–animal pair is created instantly. Removal is just as quick, and every assignment or unassignment is recorded in the log.
Each staff record field, standard or custom, can be configured to apply to humans, animals or both. An animal’s record only shows what concerns it, with no unnecessary fields.
Breed, identification, abilities, veterinary follow-up: create the custom fields you need and reserve them for animal records. You structure the information exactly as your activity requires.
The list of handlers offered is limited to active human members of the section and its sub-sections: animals and external staff are excluded. You avoid inconsistent links from the moment of entry, and one handler can work with several animals.
Because the animal is a member, it joins your teams and activities under the same rules as your staff: you take it into account when putting together the resources for an operation.
Step by step
Once the Animals module is active, create a member and switch the Human/Animal selector to “Animal”: the record will only show the fields relevant to an animal.
Choose the handler from the list (limited to staff of the section who do not already have an animal linked). The pair is created instantly and the operation is logged.
The animal appears in its handler’s allocation and, like any member, can be included in your teams and activities when putting together the resources for an operation.
Where this module really pays off
Civil protection & canine teams: each working dog has its own record, linked to its dog handler, with the job-specific fields the unit needs.
Rescue associations: track the handler–dog pair — who is linked to whom — and find the information in seconds during a changeover or an inspection.
Mounted units: register each horse as a member linked to its rider, with a suitable record and its veterinary follow-up in custom fields.
Civil protection & outreach rounds: centralise the animals deployed instead of tracking them on a spreadsheet, and deploy them in your operations like your other resources.
Frequently asked questions
Can we manage several types of animal, not just dogs?
Yes. An animal is a member marked as such through a dedicated title type, distinct from human members. Dogs, horses or any other operational animal are registered with their own record.
How do we record breed, abilities or veterinary follow-up?
Through custom fields. Each field, standard or custom, can be configured to apply to animal records, human records or both. You create exactly the sections your activity needs.
Does the animal appear directly on the operational map (SITAC, the tactical situation map)?
No, not with its own marker. The animal is linked to its handler, who can be positioned and assigned to a team. Its presence is therefore shown through the handler’s record and the allocation of the team deployed.
How does this module fit with the rest of eBrigade?
The animal lives in the same database as the staff: it has its record and its photo, and can be included in teams and activities like any other member. The link to a handler is made from the record, and every addition or removal is recorded in the log.
Is the module included and easy to enable?
Yes. Animals is included at no extra cost in every eBrigade plan and is turned on from Module › List. Once in place, the Human/Animal selector appears when creating a member: getting started is the same as with a standard staff record.
