eBrigade Badge module
Print custom badges in a few clicks
Design your badge template once, then generate all the badges for a section in a single PDF export — photo, name, rank and QR code taken automatically from eBrigade records. No more graphic designer, no more desktop publishing, no more out-of-date data.
These buttons are about the full eBrigade subscription: this module is included at no extra cost in every plan.
Design and batch printing of staff badges in business-card (85.6 × 54 mm) or A6 format, with front/back templates for the whole instance or per organisation, a visual editor (text, photo, QR code), custom background and print-ready PDF export.
What is eBrigade’s Badge module?
Design and batch printing of staff badges in business card (85.6 × 54 mm) or A6 format, with front/back templates for the whole instance or per organisation, a visual editor (text, photo, QR code), custom background and a print-ready PDF export. It is included at no extra cost in every eBrigade plan.
Why use the Badge module?
Creating badges for members, responders or events takes time and outside tools — often a graphic designer or desktop publishing software. The result: inconsistent badges, produced too late, with data that is sometimes out of date or wrongly copied by hand. For exercises, annual renewals or one-off events with accreditation, it is a recurring bottleneck.
What Badge changes in eBrigade
The module generates badges in two formats: business card (85.6 × 54 mm, wallet size) and A6 (105 × 148 mm). Each format has a front and a back that can be switched on separately, with a single template for the whole instance or one template per organisation. A visual editor lets you place dynamic fields (First name SURNAME, rank, section, custom fields…), the member’s photo and a QR code on a custom background. Data is taken automatically from eBrigade records. Printing runs in batches of 50 people and produces a print-ready PDF, for the selected statuses and excluding former members.
What you can do with Badge
Business card format (85.6 × 54 mm) for printing on a badge printer, or A6 format (105 × 148 mm) for standard laser printing. Each format handles its own front and back.
Switch on the back only when you need it (legal notices, logo, second QR code). Each side has its own background and its own layout.
Freely place dynamic fields (First name SURNAME, rank, section, custom fields), the member’s photo and a QR code on the background, directly on a WYSIWYG canvas.
Name, rank, section, photo and custom fields are pulled from eBrigade records. Fields linked to an inactive module (e.g. Rank) automatically disappear from the list — no re-entry, no out-of-date data.
Set up a separate template for each organisation, or switch on global management: a single template then applies to all staff, for a unified brand identity.
Print in batches of 50 people for an organisation and its sub-organisations, limited to the statuses selected for badges and to active members. The result is a PDF ready to print and cut out.
Step by step
Choose the format (business card or A6), switch on the front and/or back, upload and crop your background, then place the fields (First name SURNAME, rank, section, custom fields), the photo and the QR code in the visual editor. One template for the whole instance, or one per organisation.
The Badge tab of each staff record shows the badge with its real data: you spot a missing photo or a misplaced field before starting the print run.
Select the section (and, where applicable, its sub-sections), choose the batch of 50 people to print and download the PDF ready to cut out: selected statuses only, former members excluded.
Where this module really pays off
Events & accreditation: automatic generation of responder badges with rank, photo and QR code taken from the eBrigade profile.
Fire and rescue services (SDIS) & civil protection: custom operational badges (professional firefighters (SPP), volunteer firefighters (SPV), officers) that can be batch-printed from the section configuration.
Training centres & apprentice training centres (CFA): participant or trainer badges for each session, with data synchronised automatically from records.
Multi-section associations: one template per branch, or a single template for the whole instance, for a consistent visual identity.
Large workforces: printing in batches of 50 people to produce badges for an entire organisation without overloading generation.
Frequently asked questions
Can you create different badge templates for different sections?
Yes. Switch off global management: each organisation then sets its own front/back template from its record, and each person receives their organisation’s template (or, failing that, the instance’s). With global management switched on, a single template applies to all staff.
Do badges include a scannable QR code?
Yes, with the QR Code module active. The editor lets you add a QR code linked to the eBrigade profile, in addition to the photo and identity fields. It can be used from the mobile app to open the member’s record, or with the Access control module.
Which print formats are available?
Two formats: business card (85.6 × 54 mm, wallet size for a badge printer) and A6 (105 × 148 mm, for laser printing). The result is a print-ready PDF.
How do you print badges for an entire organisation?
You select the organisation (and its sub-organisations if needed), then printing runs in batches of 50 people. Only the statuses you have selected for badges are printed (external staff, for example, if you tick them), and former members are always excluded.
Do you have to re-enter the information on each badge?
No. Name, rank, section, photo and custom fields are taken directly from eBrigade records. Fields linked to a module that is not enabled do not even appear in the list, to avoid any empty or incorrect data.
