The marauding is a voluntary, social and humanitarian action. They help people in precarious situations and in poverty. The Maraude module of the eBrigade software supports you in your regular monitoring.

What is a marauding?

A patrol is above all a social and solidarity action, carried out by associative organizations, towards people in difficulty and living on the street. The Samu Social (115) coordinates patrols and directs destitute, isolated and homeless people in social, medical or psychological emergencies; to emergency accommodation centres (CHU).

How does it work?

During street tours, volunteer marauders help homeless people and build social ties. On foot or by vehicle, the teams travel a regular route and meet the homeless. The Marauding module, newly developed by eBrigade, allows you to carry out regular monitoring during your raids.

The aim of the patrol is to be able, through social support, to establish human contact and follow the process of reintegration of people in great precariousness. Directly on the application, the field teams create a follow-up sheet for each homeless person encountered. This contains his personal information (surname, first name, date of birth) as well as the details of the exchanges.

Patrolling makes it possible to establish, through dialogue, a relationship of trust between the social worker and the homeless person. The pooling of the module’s database facilitates the practice of regular management and monitoring. Indeed, all the shared sheets are available between the different branches present on eBrigade. Thus, the application retains the tracking despite the mobility of the homeless person.

The different types of patrols

There are three types of outreach: distributive, medical and social.

  • The distributive patrols consist of the provision of free meals, hygiene products or even a sleeping kit. The objective is to provide material support by promulgating basic necessities. The application’s module makes it possible to track donations made at each patrol with the homeless person and to proceed with automatic stock management.
  • Medical patrols are first aid interventions. They promulgate medical aid and require a volunteer doctor in the marauding team.
  • The aim of social patrols is to help the homeless by fighting against exclusion and isolation. Social workers provide psychological support and carry out social monitoring of the reintegration procedures undertaken by the homeless person.

Special patrols, such as the “extreme cold plan” organized by the Red Cross, are carried out when temperatures drop in winter. They aim to take homeless people to emergency accommodation where they are welcomed and cared for. These provisions aim to limit possible health complications related to the cold.
