A central element of the associative chain of associations and unions, the FNSPF is an association under the law of 1901 bringing together almost entirely all the civilian firefighters in France, without making any distinction between categories, statutes or ranks.
The Federation’s objectives
The FNSPF’s tasks are multiple; in fact, they lead to a solid activity, in harmony with the National Mutual Society and the Work of the Pupils. Thousands of volunteers as well as local unions are involved on a daily basis.
The activity of this association is structured around three essential tasks:
Represent:
- Protecting rights and interests means bearing the difficulties linked to the territories from a territorial point of view.
- Increase expertise, highlighting the characteristics and skills of the group
- Paying attention to the general interest, making the connection with our relief work and community issues.
→ Highlight investment in the service of the general interest (volunteer firefighters, etc.)
→ Represent the French territory in European/international institutions and associations
Encourage:
- To be united, by providing support to professional firefighters and their homes in the event of a problem (accident, illness, etc.)
- Participate in the evolution of methods, share knowledge on emergency relief
- Living together, spreading good humour at events and activities
→ Ensure the support of the union of the country’s SPs through a memorable collaboration with the Telethon (€1.25 million raised in 2017) as well as numerous regular actions at national, international and local level
Communicate:
- Encourage civic engagement, so that everyone feels integrated and can carry out the group’s missions in their own way
- Raising awareness and instructing in life-saving gestures means deploying in the community the gestures to adopt and resilience (first aid)
- Sharing interests and values, by giving life to places dedicated to the history of our firefighters or teaching the youngest
→ Preserve proximity to citizens by organising events such as: PO days, congresses and exhibitions, the “Fireland Festival”…
→ Prepare residents to react if a danger occurs: more than 100,000 people trained in PSC1 every year, tens of thousands of people initiated completely free of charge with the help of the 2016 Great National Cause label “Let’s adopt life-saving behaviours”…
The Federation in a few figures:
- 7000 firefighters’ associations
- 97 departmental unions
- 4 Overseas Associations
- 13 regional unions
- 277,038 members
NB: Since 2004, eBrigade has been developing software to facilitate the daily life of firefighters.
Today, to support firefighters’ associations in the management of their association, eBrigade has adapted its application.
We invite you to test our associative software online.
