The aircraft rescue and firefighting services at aerodromes (SSLIA) are made up of aerodrome firefighters, mainly professional firefighters (spp). They provide rescue, protection and prevention against fires and accidents that threaten the safety of people and property (aircraft and their environment). They are part of the local civil service.

Having obtained the validation of an initial volunteer firefighter training relating to
all fire and rescue missions, they join the SSLIA fire brigade.

Operational benefits

Centralized interface

The eBrigade features for SSLIAs are the same as for CSPs. The application offers a centralized interface that allows you to see the operation of the service in real time. You can manage all the logistics , whether it is in terms of equipment, consumables or vehicles.

Planning tool

Planning tools such as the management of activities, replacements or assignments make it possible to save and optimize the working time of operational managers.

Automation

On-call roster

Finally, automation is one of the operational advantages of eBrigade. It allows, for example, to facilitate the creation of on-call tables thanks to the data entered in the interface. You will no longer need to search for schedules to find who is available and manage the distribution of on-call shifts: it is done automatically !

Assignment

Similarly, for the management of assignments, the application makes it possible to plan the functions of the rescue centre’s on-call staff according to their skills (ambulance licence / apparatus leader / PSE).

Particularity for SSLIAs

Skills management

EBrigade offers the right features for every service. As far as SSLIAs are concerned, the application offers the possibility of managing the skills of the staff. Indeed, the skills of aerodrome firefighters are short-lived. It is therefore necessary to monitor this regularly.

Updating Skills

With eBrigade, keep the skills of all staff up to date with eBrigade. You can schedule continuing education and have access to a configurable hierarchy of skills. You can:

  • Add an expiration date on skills
  • Generate diplomas
  • Encompassing one skill with another
  • Add a recycling date…

All these features allow you to control and monitor all the skills of your SSLIA at all times.

Education

The eBrigade tool also makes it possible to manage training.

How do I become an SSLIA firefighter?

To be an SSLIA firefighter , you must already have a baccalaureate, a clean criminal record, be of French nationality and be in good physical condition.

Young firefighters (JSP) of the SSLIA must follow an initial training combining the common core and local training. For example, they learn how to use fire extinguishers, SSLIA rescue vehicles, but also special risks or aircraft firefighting tactics and specific intervention techniques. They also see how to protect staff by performing life-saving gestures.

Events

They pass sports tests (swimming) and physical tests (endurance), and must have good physical fitness conditions. You have to take the exam with written tests to validate all the initial training modules for volunteer firefighters (SPV), civil security and civil aviation. And finally, they undergo a medical examination with a DGAC (General Directorate of Civil Aviation) or SDIS (departmental fire and rescue service) doctor to see, among other things, if they are up to date with the vaccination and if they meet the criteria of the physical fitness list.
